Saud House Punishes its Opponents by Depriving them Hajj and Umrah

The right to freedom of religious practice is guaranteed under international laws and charters, but the House of Saud openly and publicly violates these rights.

The Saud House uses the rituals of Hajj and Umrah as a weapon against their opponents by denying them the necessary visas to enter the Kingdom of the Two Holy Mosques.

The demands in the Arab and Islamic worlds are mounting for the need to form an Islamic administration for the two holy mosques that guarantee the neutrality of the two holy mosques and the freedom of worship for all Muslims in the world.

These demands are based on the need to end using the two holy mosques in political disputes. In addition, these demands to improve the two mosques’ management in a way that ensures the best service for Muslim pilgrims.

In the last two years, the Saud House has expanded the circle of politicizing Hajj and Umrah and prevented Muslims from performing which for political reasons. Such reasons include criticizing Saudi’s policies or even belonging to a country that is politically or economically different from Riyadh.

Saud House sent a diplomatic bulletin to all the embassies of the Kingdom includes granting the right to refuse any pilgrim visa the embassy believes that he opposed or from an area that has staged demonstrations against the Kingdom in that country.

Thousands were reluctant to try to perform Hajj and Umrah because of the fear of being subjected to the same fate as journalist Khashoggi, who was close to the Saudi royal court for long periods.

On the other hand, fears raised support for the internationalization of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and its liberation from the grip of the House Saud, which uses it politically against Muslims.

Saud House bans Muslims in countries that have a political row with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, such as Iran, Syria, Yemen, and Qatar. In addition, pilgrims from from Mecca and Medina, such as pilgrims from Malaysia, Indonesia, Libya, and Sudan.

House of Saud system exploits the performance of some Muslims for Hajj and Umrah to arrest opponents and hand them over to their dictatorships in violation of international conventions and treaties. The arrest of Muslims performance during Hajj and Umrah is incompatible with the most basic rights of Muslims and opposed to the law of God, which made the sacred house safe for the people.

The authorities arrested dozens of people, including opponents of the regulations of their countries while performing Umrah rituals from inside the Haram al-Makkah or the rituals of pilgrimage.

The arrest of Muslims from the two holy sites during the performance of religious rites and the prohibition of others from reaching the two holy sites to perform these rituals or visit the holy sites is a flagrant violation of the freedom of worship, which is stipulated in international law and international conventions and covenants.
