Fake Projects Confirm Bin Salman’s 2030 Vision Failure

Press sources highlighted the alleged 2030vision of Mohammed bin Salman, and revealed leaked documents of what he claims about the draft projects intended to implement, including the project of the city “Neom”.

Neom name means new for the Greek word Neus means new and future. This ambitious project comes as part of a strategy to diversify the Saudi economy and reduce its reliance on oil revenues.

Bin Salman’s plan for the new city of Neom, and the documents on the city revealed the huge ambitions, some of which are unrealistic, in addition to the cost of the city of about $ 500 billion.

Three well-known consulting firms, McKinsey & Co., Boston Consulting and Oliver Wyman, are hired to help plan and implement Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s vision of the city which is nearly the size of the state of Massachusetts, equivalent to 26,500 square kilometers.

The project will also face other difficulties related to the forced displacement of more than 20 thousand citizens, in addition to all this and the nature of the funds needed by Saudi Arabia to finance the city.

The documents also indicated that a US law firm had been charged with drafting the city’s laws, which would have a legal and judicial system separate from Saudi Arabia.

The sources quoted documents leaked to the Wall Street Journal that US consulting firms developed a plan consisting of 2300 pages, in an attempt to implement MbS’s vision, sometimes suggesting techniques and technology have not invented so far.

According to the report, alcohol may also be allowed in Neom, in contrast to the rest of the Kingdom.

The city’s planning documents, which may not be final, include bringing rain to the desert through “cloud inoculation”, a technique for bringing rain by releasing dust particles into clouds to encourage rainfall.

Bin Salman appears to have been particularly impressed by the silver beach, whose sand flashed, and engineers are looking for ways to achieve the Prince’s vision without jeopardizing the safety of the beach hikers.

The Crown Prince’s plan, like the “Jurassic Park”, also includes mechanical dinosaurs, and a man-made moon lights up every night.

The security of the city will be monitored by surveillance cameras, drones, and face recognition technology.

The sources quoted a person familiar with the story of the idea of the establishment of the city of “Neom” by the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, where he said: “Bin Salman pulled the map of Saudi Arabia from Google Earth and thought that the northern quarter of Saudi Arabia was empty, that was exactly four years ago, Even before his father became a king. ”

“Bin Salman flew there, a place where the temperature is more than 50 degrees Celsius in summer, but in the winter there are surrounding mountains where the snow can fall, so he decided to create a city in it,” said the well-informed source.

Bin Salman sought to build a bridge linking the city with Egypt and agreed with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi to get two islands from Egypt in the Red Sea, which angered the Egyptians. In return, bin Salman received a letter from the leaders of “Israel” informing him of their support to establish the city, and also their willingness to sell advanced technology to Saudi Arabia for the establishment of this project.

In order to start the construction of the city, Bin Salman sought to contract with Klaus Kleinfeld, who was dismissed as CEO of Arconik (a leading aluminum manufacturer), because of the proposed bridge to link the city to Egypt can not follow the same route as bin Salman thought. It passes through the seismic zone, raising the cost of the construction of this bridge to about $ 125 billion, according to Kleinfeld’s recommendation.

While the Kingdom is looking forward to attracting Neom’s greatest minds, the report has concerns about project funding and potential technological constraints, which makes it easier to predict its failure in advance.
