Calls for boycotting Saudi dictator’s Future Investment Initiative

The Action Network urged international companies and business leaders to withdraw from the Future Investment Initiative, which will start late this month in Saudi Arabia.

The American company confirmed that the Saudi regime uses these events to whitewash its human rights crimes record.

It described the Future Investment initiative as “the Davos of the Dictators”–the propaganda event for Saudi Arabia’s dictatorship.

The company said that the Kingdom’s dictatorship uses these commercial events to whitewash its extensive record of human rights crimes.

It added: The Saudi monarchy wants the world to forget that they are currently fighting a war in Yemen that has killed tens of thousands of civilians and pushed millions of others to the brink of famine.

The company confirmed that the Al Saud regime covers the reality of women rights activists’ imprisonment and torture.

“We know that the monarchy is ready to go as far as is necessary to suppress opposition and civil society.”

The company confirmed that the Saudi dictator personally ordered the killing of journalist Jamal Khashoggi, who resides in the United States.

Successive provinces

Last December, international human rights organizations and institutions called on the participants, organizations, sponsors and the media to boycott the Dakar Rally.

From different countries of the world, international organizations and institutions commended all participants for urging the Al Saud authorities to respect human rights.

They called for pressure for all opponents’ immediate and unconditional release, and women human rights defenders.

Moreover, the organizations also called for the need to help confront the Saudi regime’s public relations campaign by shedding light on the real face of the Kingdom.

Extensive violations

Human rights organizations and institutions said, in a joint statement, that there are thousands of peaceful dissidents, human rights defenders and women’s rights activists in the Saudi prisons.

In 2019, the French group Amore Sport Organization (ASO), which organizes the annual endurance rally, signed a five-year partnership agreement with the Kingdom.

Human rights organizations considered that the French company participates in the “sports wash” of the human rights record in the Kingdom.

It said that the Kingdom seeks to host major events that contribute to masking the gross human rights violations it commits.

These human rights organizations believe that the authorities must first be held responsible for human rights violations committed locally and abroad.
