Saudi Arabia is working to destabilize the Middle East by spreading chaos and sabotage, said the US-based website.
In his article, writer Marik von Rennenkampff said that the administration of Donald Trump must give priority to curbing Saudi destabilizing activities in the region.
He stresses that Saudi Arabia’s export of what he called a “poisonous and divisive religious ideology throughout the world” is more destabilizing than Iranian activities.
The website said that the policy of extreme pressure applied by the Donald Trump administration to Tehran is based on false assumptions about Iran’s capabilities and strategic priorities.
The writer said that the US administration’s approach to confronting Tehran’s support of armed groups, which are fighting a proxy war in its favor, is unrealistic given the current tension in the region. He stressed that the White House’s efforts to change Iran’s behavior are doomed to failure.
The writer added that there is an essential fact that the decision-makers in the Trump administration are missing. All political ideologies in Iran believe in the importance of those armed groups for Iran’s national security.
He points out that the most effective way to reduce Iran’s influence and expansionist ambitions in the Middle East may be by easing Saudi-Iranian and American-Iranian tension. He said that the anti-Shiite ideology behind Saudi Arabia would ensure continued Iranian support for armed groups.
Trump’s administration should give priority to curbing Saudi destabilizing activities in the region. He said that Saudi Arabia’s export of what he called “a poisonous and divisive religious ideology around the world” is more destabilizing than Iranian activities.
Saudi Arabia and its allies in the Gulf support what he calls “militant groups” for similar purposes. The writer adds that America’s allies in the Middle East, especially Saudi Arabia, have exercised related activities to extend their influence in the region.
